The public association “Celiac kz” is a non-profit organization of an initiative, active group of people supporting Kazakhstanis with celiac disease and related conditions that require a gluten-free diet. We provide membership and a range of support, including information services to improve the quality of life of people with celiac disease, generate research evidence and raise awareness of the disease and the gluten-free diet among healthcare professionals, food service providers and the general public.

The article presents a review of the literature covering the main aspects of the morphological diagnosis of celiac disease, including problems that make it difficult to adequately assess biopsy samples of the small intestinal mucosa, and also discusses the possibilities and limitations of the method.
